gammaCore Sapphire™ non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation is a non-drug therapy for the treatment and/or prevention of primary headache (migraine, cluster headache, and hemicrania continua) and medication overuse headache in adults

In 2010, electroCore achieved a technical breakthrough, developing the ability to administer vagus nerve stimulation non-invasively (nVNS) by delivering a proprietary signal through the skin to either the right or left branches of the vagus nerve in the neck.

gammaCore Sapphire™ provides a mild electrical stimulation to the vagus nerve, on the patient’s neck. Each stimulation with gammaCore™ lasts 2 minutes. The patient controls the intensity level.

gammaCore Sapphire™ can deliver up to 30 stimulations in a 24-hour period. The number of remaining stimulations available in a 24-hour period is indicated on the display.

gammaCore™ is rechargeable using the gammaCore charging case. A gammaCore™ refill card is used to load the device with the days of therapy based on a healthcare professional’s authorisation.

gammaCore Sapphire™ is available as 93 days, 31 days and 36 months of therapy. Authorisation from a healthcare professional is required for supply. See Authorisation and Consent Form below.

Currently there is no established reimbursement for gammaCore nVNS therapy. The cost to the patient is approximately $10/day (based on 93 days of therapy).
